Welcome to Shields Notes, where we will take you through our 5 month journey!

Seeing Venice from a water taxi for the first time is magical. Our heads were on a swivel as we floated through the canals. There is something about seeing those 118 islands, with canals as streets, all connected by bridges.
Quickly, the magic wore off as we ventured through St Peter's Square and we felt like we were trapped in a very over-crowded Disney World.
Our favorite part was lunch at the famous Harry’s Bar, where the bellini was created.
If we were to come back, we would probably only be for a day trip. We would also make sure to schedule a private early morning tour of the city highlights to avoid the crowds!
